Jack Hitt

A longtime contributor to “This American Life” and the New York Times Magazine, Hitt is co-host of the Peabody Award-winning podcast “Uncivil,” which tells stories from the Civil War that didn’t make it into history textbooks. For “The Salvation of Atlanta” (p. 64), he visits the newly restored cyclorama depicting the Battle of Atlanta and peels back the layers of history he learned growing up in the South.
