YOUNG AND RESTLESS Ashley Is Blackmailed
Now that she’s the new CEO of Jabot, Ashley is furious at Kyle for causing Billy’s downfall by inflaming his gambling addiction. So, when Kyle requests that he be appointed COO, his boss turns him down flat. “Ashley has seen Kyle play his dad, Victor and Billy,” says Executive Producer/head Writer Mal Young. “Now Kyle wants his own power base but he’s suddenly realizing that his aunt is not to be trusted.”
At the GCAC, Ashley is cornered by Andrew, who demands more money for his “consulting” work, or else he’ll blab what he knows. “Andrew makes Ashley feel wobbly about her plan,” Young explains. “However, we’re going to see her deal with him in a very strong way.”
Andrew then approaches Kyle and implies that he has dirt on Ashley — for a price. “It will be interesting to see what Kyle will do with this information and if he can take on Ashley by using this to his own advantage,” Young teases. “But Ashley isn’t going down easy.”
BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL Katie Learns The Truth
After losing sole custody to Katie, Bill is a new man. “The decision has the effect that Katie was hoping for,” states Heather Tom (Katie). “Bill is stepping up and does want to be a part of his son’s life in a real way, and Will now wants to see his father. That’s all she ever wanted. And now, if Bill starts messing up again, she has the capacity and the ability to call him out on it and limit his access. But as long as this is the way he’s handling things, it couldn’t be better.”
That is, until Brooke spills to her sister that Ridge bribed the judge in her suit. “Katie is shocked and appalled,” relays Tom. “She was conflicted by going for custody in the first place, but in her mind, Katie did win, so when she finds out that wasn’t necessarily legitimate, she is horrified. She knows that she can’t tell Bill for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that what Ridge did was illegal and he can go to jail, but now she’s got this huge secret to keep, and she feels incredibly guilty about it.”
GENERAL HOSPITAL Nina Meets Her Daughter
Nina and her newly discovered daughter, Sasha, get together for the first time — and Nina is devastated when Sasha makes it clear that she’s not interested in forging a relationship.
“Michelle [Stafford, Nina] is freaking awesome,” declares James Patrick Stuart (Valentin). “When they shot the scenes of her talking to her daughter for the first time, everyone stopped to look at the monitors. It was gripping and spellbinding. And for Valentin, it’s like, ‘Mission accomplished! Sasha is in Nina’s life!’ ”
When he encounters her following Sasha’s rejection, “Nina is in an extremely vulnerable place, and extremely disappointed. Valentin doesn’t like seeing her sad. He just tries to show her, ‘I’m here and I’m not going anywhere.’ ”
Of course, the million-dollar question remains: Is Sasha really Nina’s daughter, or is this a setup by Valentin? “It would be nice to believe that it was too sacred a ground [for Valentin to manipulate],” Stuart muses. “But even Michelle and I look at each other like, ‘This son of a bitch is never gonna learn, is he?’ ”
DAYS OF OUR LIVES Bonnieõs Baby Is Mimiõs
Mimi is not happy that her mother is passing off her baby as her own to scam Lucas. “Bonnie is blackmailing Mimi because Bonnie took the rap for Mimi’s father’s murder and that’s why she was in prison for 10 years,” explains Farah Fath (Mimi). “Mimi doesn’t want to be part of this scheme, so she’s helping her mother, very reluctantly so.”
When Mimi sees Lucas bonding with the infant, “She definitely feels bad,” says Fath. “She also gets very protective because her baby starts to be passed around and she doesn’t get to spend every night with her. She’s just gotten herself into a mess. She does have a soft side for her mom and does want to help her, but she just doesn’t anticipate how this snowballs into something much bigger than she ever wanted.”
Things reach a boiling point when Mimi finds Chloe singing a lullaby to the baby. “She’s appalled! That totally irritates her,” exclaims Fath. “As a mother you just don’t want to see any other woman acting like that toward your baby.”
