ROBERT ADAMSON ON Y&R RETURN

-

Y&R viewers were surprised when Noah, who has been living in Mumbai since February, showed up unexpectedly for Nick and Sharon’s wedding. His portrayer, Robert Adamson, was more than happy to reprise the character. “I was highly anticipating that they’d call,” says the actor. And when Y&R beckoned, “The answer was yes. I’ve always said as long as I’m available, I’ll always put on my Noah pants.”

After the deal was set, Adamson tipped off his favorite co-star, Joshua Morrow (Nick), with, “‘Hey, Dad! See you at work next week!’ He was very happy. I think as far as being close to someone on a work level, Josh is as close as it gets. I love that guy.”

After shaving his “big old beard”, Adamson reported to the Y&R set, where, after initial greetings, he immediately settled in. “It felt like I just walked back in after I’ve been gone for a week,” he marvels. “Then everybody kind of, like, pats me on the back — you get that out of the way pretty quickly — and, ‘Hey! Oh, my gosh, I missed you so much! How you doing? Let’s catch up!’ But then everybody goes back to work. It’s such a well-oiled machine there. There’s only so much time to indulge in that.”

Adamson didn’t even mind the long work days. “As soon as you see it’s going to be a wedding, you just know you’re going to sit behind a pulpit or a stand for two days,” he chuckles. “So, I was playing tic-tac-toe with Aly [Lynd, Faith] and stuff like that, but ready when they called, ‘Action!’ ”

Adamson has kept busy since his character left Genoa City. “I’ve been doing a lot of stuff behind the camera,” he shares. “I shot music videos and I shot a commercial recently with Sean Carrigan

[ex-stitch] for an app. It’s just a really funny campaign that we put together. I also finished a two-year program at Baron Brown; it’s a great [acting] school. Sharon [Case, Sharon] went there years ago and Justin Hartley [ex-adam] actually recommended it to me.”

Being dad to 4-yearold daughter Aleda, whose mom is Adamson’s former fiancée, Linsey Godfrey (Sarah, DAYS; ex-caroline, B&B), is top priority. “She’s great and growing up way too fast,” he notes. “I went through all of her wardrobe today and none of this was fitting her months ago. We go swimming quite a bit, we went camping a couple of months ago and if I get her out on her bike, she’s happy.”

And Genoa City is never far from his mind. “I hang out with Cami [Grimes, Mariah],” he shares. “She and Aleda have a good relationship and we do fun activities, too. I saw Aly recently. We went out and did a Universal Studios trip together with Aleda. I talk to Josh pretty often. He’s an all-star!”
