B&B'S WYATT QUITS SPENCER FOR FC

-

■ Wyatt tenders his resignation from Spencer Publications to take a job at Forrester Creations. “He’s the new social media manager and will head up that entire division,” states Darin Brooks of Wyatt’s career move. “So, he’s basically running the whole Forrester social media shebang. He will create campaigns and get back to making the women the focus point of the lines.”

There are several reasons why Wyatt decides to take the leap. “Initially, there was a little hesitation on his part because he wasn’t quite sure where the offer was coming from necessarily, but overall he was excited by it,” Brooks relays. “Most prominent, of course, is it’s an opportunity to be with his girlfriend, Sally, and work with her and maybe make some people jealous — who knows? Wyatt can be a bit of a pot-stirrer. He knows it’s going to be a little odd, since not only will he be working with his girlfriend but also his two ex-wives. So, the potential for conflict is certainly there. But, now that he is working with Sally, that means they can carpool and he can use the carpool lane, which you really need in L.A. [laughs].”

While Wyatt is excited by the new opportunity, he is not looking forward to informing his father about the change. Says Brooks, “It’s funny because when Wyatt decides to take the job, everybody comes up and asks him, ‘Did you tell Bill yet?’ and Wyatt says, ‘No. I haven’t gotten around to it yet.’ There’s definitely some apprehension on Wyatt’s part to see what’s going to happen there because Bill usually will fly off the handle and make everybody feel bad about not choosing him, especially these days.”

Summoning his courage, Wyatt meets with Bill and, “Things go pretty much as he expected,” Brooks chuckles. “Wyatt goes to his dad and breaks the news to him and Bill, of course, does flip out a bit. But, Wyatt gives it to him straight and says, ‘Listen, I want you to be happy for me, and who knows? Maybe I’ll come back, but I have to explore this opportunity because it’s what I love to do.’ Wyatt loves to be the social media whiz and be stellar and entertain in his own way. That’s definitely a part of his personality, so while a part of him feels like he’s deserting Bill, Wyatt needs to do what’s best for himself.”

“A part of him feels like he’s deserting Bill.”
