B&B: Taylor Is Back

-

■ Taylor resurfaces and stops in to see Bill. “Taylor has been laying low,” explains her portrayer, Hunter Tylo. “She obviously made a mistake with Bill’s shooting, and she’s not quite sure if she’s safe. She doesn’t know if Bill is going to keep his word. She’s paranoid at this point about Bill keeping quiet. She also doesn’t want to stay away from her new granddaughter, Kelly, so she’s experiencing a dilemma.”

Taylor grows even more unnerved when she learns that after Bill’s recent fall, Detective Sanchez reopened the shooting case. “If they don’t close this case, it’s her worst nightmare come to life,” states Tylo. “Until now, Taylor believed the police had written it off, but that mindset could be a big mistake. Taylor doesn’t know if she can trust Bill. He said he’d stay quiet, but being a psychiatrist, Taylor knows Bill’s personality profile. She knows his character and if he is provoked, he is not trustworthy. She is very aware of what he is, so she goes to him for assurance. She’s just trying to secure her safety so she can breathe again.”

After her powwow with Bill, Taylor has a contentious encounter with Hope — and Liam walks in on them. “Liam immediately jumps into protective mode because he thinks she is about to attack his wife,” says Tylo. “Taylor explains that she was just expressing her feelings, but he takes that as, ‘Maybe she’s still dangerous,’ even though Taylor is assuring everyone that she is not. In the past, Taylor was always nice but now, she’s becoming more like Stephanie in the fact that her mother lioness is coming out.”

As Liam defends his wife, Taylor’s confrontation with Hope escalates. “Taylor sees Hope as being an opportunist,” Tylo points out. “She’s the same as her mother. This is nothing new. She knows this behavior, and she knows exactly where Hope learned it from. This is what Stephanie always warned Taylor about. Back in the day, Taylor would be the one saying, ‘No, Brooke wouldn’t do that,’ and Stephanie would shake her and say, ‘Taylor, wake up!’ That’s where Taylor is now with Hope. She’s like, ‘I already know you. I know your kind. You are just like your mother and you are not doing this to my daughter,’ in terms of her keeping Liam away from Steffy and their baby.”

That’s when Brooke steps up to intercede on her daughter’s behalf. “Yep, it’s another Taylor/brooke battle,” laughs Tylo. “It’s really so much fun when these two go at it. There is so much history and boy, do the insults fly. It’s going to be fun for the longtime fans to see, and the beauty of those scenes are they each have legitimate points to make. It’s been such fun to play Taylor now, at this stage of her life, because she really speaks her mind.”
