DAYS revealed in 1990 that Frankie (Billy Warlock, with Melissa Reeves as Jennifer) had actually arrived in Salem in 1986 with an assumed identity; instead of a street kid in need of the home the Bradys provided, he was actually François Von Leuschner.

When GH’S Hayden (Rebecca Budig) came to town in 2015, she was on Ric’s payroll, tasked with convincing amnesiac “Jake” (Billy Miller) that she was his wife, Mrs. Barnes.

In 2003 on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, a presumed-dead Todd (Trevor St. John) returned to town after extensive plastic surgery, passing himself off as Walker Laurence, evil Mitch’s brother. An unwitting Blair (Kassie Depaiva) married him. (Years later, he turned out not to be Todd, but rather Todd’s brainwashed twin, Victor, but that’s another story .... )

LOVING’S Ava (Lisa Peluso) was in for a shock in 1988 when she learned that the man she had married as Clay Alden was actually impostor Alex(Randolph Mantooth).

In 1989, it was revealed that the woman Stephanie believed was her microcephalic daughter Angela was actually an impostor, who called herself Deveney Dixon (Judith Borne).
