Soap Opera Digest - - ROUNDUP -

We heard from a massive amount of still-ardent Sonny and Brenda fans — but they were divided on which of the duo’s moments was tops on the romantic scale. However, several favorites did emerge, starting with two from 1994: their steamy lovemaking session on the beach in Puerto

Rico in 1994 after he rescued her from mobster

Hernando Rivera’s goons, and the first time he said,

“I love you.” Recalls one fan, “He was so scared to tell her. He had such major trust issues so the lead-up to this was everything.” Their first Valentine’s Day together in 1995 (Brenda surprised Sonny wearing only a red bow and purred, “Unwrap me”) was another popular pick. From 1997, fans gave shoutouts to the duo making love in the cave with their dying breaths (Harry Silver had trapped them; they were ultimately rescued); Sonny proposing to Brenda with his mother’s ring; and their last dance together before he left her at the altar (“So beautiful yet heartbreaking,” in one fan’s estimation); and finally, from 2002, four years after Brenda’s presumed death, when Sonny saw her alive on the steps of the church. “The look between them made me weak in the knees,” wrote one of their supporters.
