Editor’s Note

- Stephanie Sloane, Editorial Director

In this issue, we have our annual

Best & Worst picks, beginning on page 58. Here, the editors share their personal faves of 2018:

Bryan Beckley: “The culmination of the first season and the current second season of DYNASTY have been campy soap fun! No one delivers a sarcastic quip quite like Elizabeth Gillies [Fallon] and the storylines are full of twists and turns.”

Stella Bednarz: “On GH, Mike’s Alzheimer’s disease was one of the heartachingly best stories, with portrayer Max Gail (a superb recast) turning in layered, masterful performances. Kleenex required.” it

Michael Karol: “DAYS’S Will/sonny/leo triangle — means, to me, that gay characters have ‘arrived’ to the point where their love stories can be just as convoluted and crazy (Blackmail! Murder! Back from the dead!) as any on soaps.”

Mara Levinsky: “Nelle’s umbrella-story swan song, culminating in the baby switch, was pretty riveting TV on GH.”

Devin Owens: “Hands down, Ashley’s ultimate revenge against Jack by making him think for months that he wasn’t John Abbott’s son. I remember when this family was introduced on Y&R, so it was awesome this year to watch their history thrown into the storyline Cuisinart with such attention to detail.”

Tom Stacy: “When it comes to B&B, they saved the best the for last: Taylor’s return has really shaken things up for better. I can’t wait to see how the aftermath of Bill’s shooting plays out.”
