B&B: MAYA AND RICK SPLIT

-

■ After several months in Paris with husband Rick, Maya returns to Los Angeles — solo — and catches up with both Zoe and Brooke. “Maya is all about family,” states her portrayer, Karla Mosley. “Family is incredibly important to her, especially now, because she was estranged from her family for so long. So, she is extremely protective of her cousin Xander. The last time that Maya was there, she saw Zoe sneaking into Forrester, trying to take over the fashion show, wiggling her way in, and Maya knows how to hustle, so she’s just letting Zoe know, ‘Look, if Xander vouches for you, that’s fine — but I’ve got my eye on you!’ ”

Maya also has news for Brooke, which she is not happy about sharing: She and Rick have separated. “It feels like ... you know how you see a story in a tabloid that a certain couple broke up and you’re like, ‘Oh, no! I was really rooting for them!’ It feels very much

like that,” admits Mosley. “We want people to make it, but they’re actually struggling silently, behind closed doors. Well, that’s the case here. So, Maya lets Brooke know that while she was in Paris with Rick, they’ve been talking about the troubles in their relationship.”

As Maya sorts out what to do next, she’s happy to have a lot of family support. “Lizzy is back with her, and she and Rick are working out how that’s going to go,” Mosley explains. “Maya’s really sad, but she has come to feel that the Forresters are her family. They’ve been with her through some of the most wonderful and awful and vulnerable times in her life, so she comes back hoping the family still supports her. The wonderful news is that the Forresters are used to breakups and reunions, so that helps [laughs].”

She also has her own parents to lean on. “Vivienne is a typical mom, worried about her daughter, and wants to make sure that she’s okay,” Mosley smiles. “And Julius is Julius. He has his own opinions, which he makes known. Julius doesn’t handle change well. I think that’s the bottom line. He does not let her off the hook with this, so things are going to get a little bumpy.”
