Down and out after Sonny and Leo’s wedding, a drunk Will turns up on Kate’s doorstep blaming her for the couple’s marriage. “Kate was partially responsible for Leo’s blackmailing and basically set the whole thing in motion, so in Will’s mind she definitely is culpable,” notes his portrayer, Chandler Massey.

Kate takes responsibility, but urges Will to fight for his ex. “It’s kind of the nudge Will needed,” assesses Massey. Will takes a cab to see Sonny, who reveals that Leo is threatening to expose the two of them unless Sonny stops seeing Will. “That hits Will really hard,” admits Massey. “The last shred of positivity in his life was that at least Sonny loved him and they could be together when Leo wasn’t around.”

Leo makes things worse when he runs into Will and taunts him about being in Sonny’s bed. “That’s the straw that breaks the camel’s back,” previews the actor, whose Will punches Leo. Sonny shows up, and Leo warns both him and Will that they had better not cross him, or he’ll destroy them. “Will is in a perpetual anger loop,” sums up Massey. “He’s hoping some opportunity presents itself that he can capitalize on and fix this whole thing.”
