Talk about being ready for a new year. There’s been no end to the grief put upon Chad and Abigail in 2018. As if Stefan’s intrusion into their lives and immediate infatuation with his brother’s wife wasn’t enough to jeopardize the couple’s happiness, Abigail accidentally murdered Andre, then developed DID and her Gabby alter had sex with Stefan. Abigail’s pregnancy, although not necessarily a surprise in the world of soaps, was the ultimate twist, followed by a switched paternity test by the vindictive Gabi that’s led Chad and Abigail to believe she gave birth to Stefan’s child. Granted, the duo did have a handful of captivating scenes together when Chad delivered their daughter, Charlotte, in the Horton cabin, but before viewers could even begin to bask in the feelsso-good moment, Chad bartered a deal with Stefan to have Abigail committed in exchange for physical custody of Charlotte. “Chabby” was one of the show’s most viable duos; here’s hoping a reconciliation is in the works before Kate Mansi wraps her visit as Abby.
