BEST WEDDING I JOHN AND MARLENA, DAYS

-

Fans waited a long time to see John and Marlena get hitched again, and the writers scripted big, splashy nups that fully delivered the drama as they got hijacked by the shocking return of Kristen, a drugged Sami and a stray bullet from Xander’s gun. The bride ended up in the hospital on life support and the groom faced the heartbreaking prospect of life without her, giving Drake Hogestyn (John) some of his best work to date. Is it any wonder that when Marlena finally woke up, daughter Belle opted to go an entirely different route, organizing an impromptu second ceremony for her parents that was perfect in its simplicity? Preparing a romantic setting in the town square and inviting a few of the couple’s closest family members and friends, the nuptial reboot lacked the pomp and circumstance of John and Marlena’s first attempt at “I do”, but none of it was missed. The vows were heartfelt, the ceremony was warm and wonderful, and, above all, represented the pair’s true devotion to each other. No fuss or frills required.
