BIGGEST WASTE OF TALENT I NANCY LEE GRAHN, GH
GH has a lot of powerhouse female characters in its roster, and almost all of them (think Anna, Ava, Carly) had jam-packed on-screen years. Alas, one of the exceptions is Alexis, played by Nancy Lee Grahn, a Daytime Emmy-winning, 22-year Port Charles vet with a passionate fan base. For several years running, viewers have clamored for a sustained effort to rebuild the splintered “Julexis” romance, but while Julian was spun off into a relationship with Kim in 2018, Alexis’s dance card remained woefully empty once her brief dalliance with Finn concluded. Sans a love life, Alexis was mostly left to guest-star in other people’s stories, such as sniffing around Sam for updates on “Jasam”. It’s a shame that nothing really came of what seemed set up to be an Alexis-centric story: her going into therapy with Kevin, and her obsession with Helena’s watch (unless we’re in the midst of a reallllly slow burn). As always, Grahn rocked when given the chance (particularly as the attorney in Kiki’s “GH Too” trial, and in her still-magnetic on-screen encounters with William devry, Julian) — but those opportunities were too few and far between. On behalf of Grahn’s legions of fans, we issue this plea to GH: Give this lady some storyline love!
