Chloe Lanier Visits GH
■ For the third time since her final on-contract appearance in August, Daytime Emmy winner Chloe Lanier is popping in to GH as Nelle, who remains the keeper of a doozy of a baby secret:
Her son with Michael is alive and being raised by Brad and Lucas.
“I couldn’t be happier that I’m getting the chance to come and visit,” enthuses Lanier. “I love everyone over there and of course, playing Nelle is always fun. It’s interesting because they have me working with people that I didn’t normally work with before, like Steve [Burton, Jason] and Kelly [Monaco, Sam] last time, and this time, I worked with Kathleen [Gati, Obrecht]. It’s always fun coming back, but the best part about this time is that I got to see my old makeup artist. She had a baby earlier in the year and had just gotten back from maternity leave. I was so excited to see her because I absolutely love her. That was awesome. And, of course, Frank [Valentini, executive producer] directed our scenes, so it was great to catch up with him. I saw Josh [Swickard, Chase] and Kirsten [Storms, Maxie] and I also got to meet Katelyn [Macmullen, Willow]. Love her! She was super-nice. And I saw Michelle [Stafford, Nina] for, like, two seconds, but no one else was really there.”
Unlike her first return, Lanier did not come to the studio armed with a scary doll to prank people in their dressing rooms. “I was empty-handed this time,” she grins. “But I forgot to go look for that doll! I know someone still has it up in their room.”
She was assigned to Hayley Erin’s (exKiki) old dressing room for the day. “That was kind of bittersweet now that she’s gone, too,” Lanier says. “But it was really comfortable in there because she left all of her furniture. I texted her immediately and was like, ‘I’m in your room!’ She wrote back like, ‘Oh, have fun!’ It was nice to be in there for, like, the five seconds that I used it [laughs].”
While Lanier doesn’t know what she calls “the Nelle plan” is moving forward, she remains open to future visits. “I would love to get to work with the people I worked with before on the show,” she notes. “I’d love to work with Maura [West, Ava] again, and Laura [Wright, Carly] and Josh and Chad [Duell, Michael]. I hope they come see Nelle at Pentonville!”
