■ At the 45th Daytime Emmys, DAYS swept Oustanding Drama, Directing and Writing. James Reynolds (Abe, DAYS) was Outstandin­g Lead Actor, with Eileen Davidson (ex-ashley, Y&R) taking home the Lead Actress prize; the winners in the Supporting categories were Greg Vaughan (Eric, DAYS) and Camryn Grimes (Mariah, Y&R), while Younger Actress went to Chloe Lanier (ex-nelle, GH), and Rome Flynn (exzende, B&B) won Younger Actor. DAYS legends Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Doug and Julie) were honored with the Lifetime Achievemen­t Award. Post-ceremony, the Emmys were the subject of major controvers­y when Patrika Darbo was stripped of her prize as Guest Star in a Digital Drama as THE BAY’S Mickey when her submission was found to be in violation of the rules for the category.the four soaps banded together to threaten an Emmy boycott unless changes and improvemen­ts were made to the process; NATAS responded by hiring an independen­t report to address the shows’ complaints, and promised to implement its suggestion­s.
