■ Nadia Bjorlin (Choe, DAYS) discovered a line of flats during her first pregnancy with son Torin, 2, that she continues to wear — and love to this day. “The brand is Rothy’s, and I feel like I should be a spokesperson for them,” says Bjorlin. “They advertise on Facebook and Instagram. That’s how I found them. At the time, I wanted some flats that weren’t super-expensive, but were comfortable. And I just kept seeing their ads.”

The concept behind the shoes intrigued the actress. “They’re made from recyclable plastic water bottles,” she notes. “They use some kind of technology to laser-cut the bottles down. They’re always updating their site with statistics about how many water bottles they’ve saved from [going into the] ocean or ending up in a landfill.”

Taking all of the above into consideration, Bjorlin finally ordered her first pair. “I felt good about spending my money on them,” insists Bjorlin, who hasn’t been disappointed. “The shoes totally breathe. They’re almost like a mesh material, and they’re machine washable, too. That, to me, was one of the top selling points. I’m a clean freak. I have a borderline problem. I wanted shoes that I could wash and wear in the house. These look brand-new after you wash them, and you just let them air dry.”

Best of all, Bjorlin says the shoes “are very comfortable. They don’t have a lot of support, like a Skechers shoe, but you could put your own insole in. I wore them [during] my entire pregnancies, before and after. They were fine, even when I was carrying a giant bowling bowl in my belly.”

And they’re quite stylish, too. “They keep coming out with different designs and patterns,” explains Bjorlin. “They used to just have a round toe and a pointed toe. I loved the pointed toe. Now they’ve started making loafers and sneakers, slip-on sneakers. I can’t even go there. I want to start ordering, but I’m afraid I’ll go out of control. I have four pairs, and I feel like I could just accidentally drink some wine one night and order 15 more. And they’re not that cheap. They’re like $140 or $150 a pair. They do last. I’ve had mine for two years.”

Bjorlin’s even turned some of her DAYS co-workers on to Rothy’s. “Some people have bought them,” she shares, noting that Mary Beth Evans (Kayla) is among them. “And everybody seems to like them.”
