B&B TRAGEDY: HOPEÕS BABY IS STILLBORN

-

■ Hope and Liam are gutted by the loss of their baby, Beth. “All Hope wants to do is hold her baby,” says Annika Noelle (Hope). “It was an earthshattering moment for Hope when Liam told her the sad truth [that the baby died]. It crushes Hope. Her world is completely turned upside down.”

Of course, the news also devastates the family. “Hope has a very touching moment with her mother,” Noelle adds. “She really needs her mom at this point but unfortunately, there’s nothing they can do but cry together. Brooke tries to offer comfort but at this point, Hope is inconsolable. It’s tragic.”

Hope and Liam are now forced to face the future without their daughter. “As things progress, we watch them face this heartbreak head-on, but they also deal with it differently,” says Noelle. “We are going to see how they face this adversity together as a couple, but we’ll also see how they deal with this individually, and how they process their respective grief. It’s really overwhelming for both of them and now, we’ll see how they cope, and if they can cope with it.”

Hope is understandably having a hard time. “Nothing else matters to Hope except the loss of her daughter,” Noelle laments.

“It’s going to be a long and painful road ahead.”

“Everything else falls by the wayside because all she can focus on is how someone who felt like such a big part of her for so long could suddenly be gone. She’s just grieving at this point, and nothing else matters.”

As for Liam, he is consumed with guilt. “It’s as tunnel-visioned as you can expect,” sighs Scott Clifton (Liam). “What’s horrifying to him is that Hope would have to give birth without him there. He already has a lot of guilt that he has this special relationship with Steffy. He has a daughter with her, and so he wanted to create a symmetry there. Every single thing that goes wrong with Liam and Hope offsets that symmetry, and Liam is conscious of all of that. Now, he’s just trying to be sensitive to Hope’s feelings and her experience, but it’s going to be a long and painful road ahead.”
