BABY FEVER

-

Ryan Carnes (Lucas, GH) is thrilled that Brad and Lucas becoming first-time parents has given him and on-screen hubby Parry Shen (Brad) some important story to play. “I think it’s an honor,” he declares. “It’s great that there’s a same-sex couple that has a baby and are getting to experience the same things people actually do experience in our world. I mean I think just from that standpoint it’s a real honor. It’s been really fun so far and hopefully we’re just gonna keep ratcheting up the drama. And,” he teases, “I feel honored that Frank [Valentini, executive producer] trusted me to hold a baby!” Carnes and Chad Duell (Michael), whose character is the biological father of the baby Lucas is raising (unknown to either Lucas or Michael), have had some on-set fun with the soapy scenario. “We do have this running joke; all the time now in every scene, Chad’s always looking at my baby and I’m always like, ‘Stop looking at my baby like that! Stop saying those weird things about my baby!’ because obviously Michael has a connection to this child and he can’t explain it.” Though Duell has admitted in the past to being uncomfortable working with babies, “Chad’s doing just fine,” Carnes reports. “He seems a bit nervous, a bit skittish, but so far there have been no dropped babies [laughs].”
