Jordan and Curtis conclude that the killer is attempting to replicate Ryan’s murder spree. “Kevin” surprises Laura by endorsing her candidacy. Unnerved by her intention to pursue reform at Ferncliff if elected, Ryan trails Laura out of the pub. Chase hosts a selfdefens­e course attended by Nina, Maxie, Liz and Willow. Nina is paired with Willow for one of the exercises. Lulu and Laura arrive after the class has ended. Lulu exits; Ryan approaches Laura, intending to strangle her. Scott’s arrival thwarts his plan. Laura scrutinize­s “Kevin’s” reaction when Scott goes off about Ryan.

After a heart-to-heart with Sonny, Marcus decides not to take Yvonne away from the day care center — and Mike.

BAD MEDICINE

Drew eviscerate­s Julian

for cheating on Kim. Alexis realizes that Julian allowed Kim to think they slept together. At G.H., Terry informs a devastated Kim and Drew that Oscar’s treatment isn’t working. They share the bad news with Oscar and Josslyn. Later, Joss breaks down to Carly, and Alexis approaches Kim to set the record straight about Julian. Kim lights in to her, then crumbles, telling her about Oscar’s grim prognosis. Alexis consoles her. Sam also learns about Oscar; in a heartfelt conversati­on, she and Drew mend their friendship. Oscar is released from G.H., and doesn’t correct Cameron when his pal assumes this means the treatment is working.

How does Ned take his loss to Laura in the mayoral election? Wally Kurth says:

“Well, he admits that he’s not very good at losing and it’s hard for him. But Olivia [Lisa Locicero] helps him through it. Most men don’t like to get their hands held, but I think it’s sweet that he realizes that he’s vulnerable and that he needs her.”

JUDGMENT DAY

Before Cam’s hearing, Alexis details her strategy to Liz and Franco. The judge goes along with it, but Cam is less than thrilled by the obligation­s he will need to fulfill: community service and drug counseling.

FEARLESS LEADER

On Election Day, Carly’s suspicions flare when she learns that “Kevin” told Laura he’s keeping a close eye on Ferncliff. Lulu tells Sonny that she and Dante agreed that he needs to come home to help nab the serial killer. Margaux wonders if Lulu’s zealous reporting has led to the outing of classified informatio­n. Jordan and

Curtis ask Mac to help them work the case; Mac then shares with “Kevin” that the cops have linked the current killings to Ryan’s past ones, and Ryan works to figure out what else the police know.

Olivia admits to Ned that she fears his reelection will put him on the killer’s radar; he reassures her. Before heading to watch the results with Laura, Lulu picks up on the sparks between Peter and Maxie. Finn and Alexis reconnect. At The Floating Rib, everyone cheers when Laura is declared the winner, while there is disappoint­ment at the Quartermai­ne manse. With Olivia by his side, Ned goes to Laura’s party to congratula­te her and offer his concession. Laura

makes a victory speech vowing to catch the killer. “Kevin” joins in the applause.

HURTS SO GOOD

Peter and Anna grow closer as he thanks her for her Christmas gift (her WSB file). Suddenly, Anna suffers a blinding headache and collapses.

SON OF A GUN

Sam and Jason confront Shiloh about being the son of one of her marks. He acts shocked; they don’t buy it. Shiloh muses that fate brought them together and details the path to enlightenm­ent he set out on after Drew saved his life. Skeptical, Sam accuses him of harassing her as “Linda Black”. He maintains his innocence and departs. Sam and Jason don’t know what to make of the mysterious man.
