GENERAL HOSPITAL Oscar’s Treatment Fails
Oscar, Kim, Drew and Josslyn struggle with a grim new reality now that the teen and his loved ones know that the experimental treatment he underwent to treat his brain tumor was not successful.
Tamara Braun (Kim) describes her character getting the bad news from Terry as “the worst thing she could ever hear. She put so much stock into the treatment working. It was the absolute last chance for him because this disease is terminal. So Kim is just absolutely, completely devastated, and she questions whether or not she should even have put him through it when he could just have been enjoying himself rather than go through treatment. She starts doing all the things that people do when they have no control over something anymore. She just has to relent — but she starts spiraling.”
Terry levels with Oscar about how long he has left to live, and he and Joss resolve to make the most of their remaining time together. “It’s a tragic situation,” Braun sighs. “Her heart is breaking for her son.”
BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL Steffy Adopts A Baby
Steffy moves forward with her plan to give Kelly a sister, and plans to adopt a baby girl. “The idea came up when Steffy and her mom were talking about Phoebe,” relays Jacqueline Macinnes Wood (Steffy). “Steffy has never fully gotten over losing her twin. She misses that closeness, and would love for her daughter to experience that.”
Taylor is instrumental in putting the plan in motion after she meets Reese’s pal, Flo, who has adoption experience. “The timing of her new friendship with Reese couldn’t have come at a better time,” says Hunter Tylo (Taylor). “Taylor has found that she can turn to him for advice and a sympathetic ear, no matter what. His knowledge and insight have been very helpful.”
When Flo meets Steffy, the women hit if off. “They like each other,” states Katrina Bowden (Flo). “Florence immediately thinks that Steffy is wonderful. She’s beautiful, successful and a very good mom. [Flo thinks] she’s the whole package.”
DAYS OF OUR LIVES Haley’s Secret Revealed
JJ walks in on a discussion between Haley — and her sister Melinda. Freaked out that JJ has overheard them talking, Melinda lamely covers and sends Haley to take care of the situation. “Melinda’s tough and relentless and wants to become the mayor, and Haley knows her sister will let nothing get in the way of that; especially the fact that they are related,” explains Thia Megia (Haley).
Haley goes to see JJ “to test the waters, see what his motives are and if she can really trust him,” says Megia, noting that Melinda “wants JJ out of Haley’s life.” JJ tries to get Haley to come clean about her secret, but she won’t. “She’s so used to keeping it to herself that it’s very difficult for her to open up.”
Later, Haley finally does in a session with Marlena. “Haley realizes it’s an opportunity to help herself,” asserts Megia. “Marlena assures her their session is confidential, and Haley feels safe enough to admit she’s an undocumented immigrant. It’s a huge moment for Haley. After holding on to something so heavy for so long, she takes that off her shoulders.”
YOUNG AND RESTLESS Phyllis Busts Billy
While dining out with Billy, Victoria is heartened by their growing closeness. “Victoria has seen a marked change in Billy,” says Amelia Heinle (Victoria). “He’s been very supportive during her recent problems but there’s a part of her that can’t forget their not-so-good times, so she’s very cautious about a reconciliation despite her renewed feelings for him.”
Phyllis interrupts the meal, claiming she needs to talk business with Billy. “Phyllis crossed the line at J.T.’S memorial service, so nothing she does surprises Victoria,” sighs Heinle. “They may be bonded because of their alliance, but Victoria wants to interact with Phyllis as little as possible.”
Phyllis forgoes shop talk and instead informs Victoria that Billy only cozied up to her after Phyllis turned down his request that they get back together. “Now Victoria wonders if Billy is pursing her as a backup plan since he was rejected by Phyllis,” gripes Heinle. “This will only intensify the animosity between these women.”
The End Is Near: Oscar (Garren Stitt, with Braun as Kim) wants to live the rest of his life to the fullest.
And Baby Makes Three: Steffy (Wood) is ready to give Kelly a sister.
Second Choice? Phyllis (Gina Tognoni, l.) exposes Billy’s true motives to Victoria (Heinle).
Immigration Issue: Haley (Megia) tries to keep the truth from JJ (Casey Moss).
