JJ and Haley get closer when he plays his guitar for her. “Haley starts singing along with JJ, and it’s a nice moment for them,” notes Thia Megia (Haley). “They’re discovering their shared interests and passions for music. Haley’s really able to be relaxed in JJ’S presence.”
JJ then takes the opportunity to be open and honest about his past, revealing all about his scandalous affair with Eve and Paige’s murder. “They’re learning a lot about each other, and it’s a big moment in their relationship.”
JJ ultimately urges Haley to share what’s bothering her. “She feels she’s in a trusted place with JJ,” observes the actress. “He saved her life. He’s been beside her. She trusts that she can share her secret with him, and he won’t tell anyone.”
So she makes the huge decision to open up about her undocumented immigrant status. “It’s a huge relief,” admits Megia. “Especially sharing this with someone Haley trusts who has been there for her more so than her own flesh and blood.”
