DAYS: Jordan’s Last Stand

-

■ Rafe goes to the hospital after collapsing, unaware that he ate a poisoned cupcake meant for Ciara. Ciara, meanwhile, finds the vial of poison that Jordan planted in Ben’s coat and queries her beau. “I don’t think that she questions Ben’s innocence or intentions; I think she’s confused about the situation because she knows that he wouldn’t do anything shady,” explains Victoria Konefal (Ciara). “At first, she doesn’t even know that it’s a vial of poison, it’s just a vial of some suspicious material. She’s more concerned and confused than she is pointing blame at Ben or anyone. She just wants to know what it is and why it’s there.”

At the hospital, tests show that Rafe was poisoned, and he privately deduces that Jordan is to blame. He shares his suspicions with JJ, who heads out to investigate. Ben and Ciara come to the same conclusion about Jordan, and Ben takes the suspicious vial to the hospital for testing, leaving Ciara alone at the gatehouse. While Ben is out, Jordan pays Ciara a visit. “Ciara is not going to let Jordan know what she knows,” says Konefal. “Silence is power and information is power, so she’s using both of those against Jordan. Ciara is nervous, but she tries to keep her cool.”

Ciara to leave with her and baby David. “Ciara is trying to figure out a way to manipulate Jordan into thinking her idea [to leave] isn’t the right move,” previews Konefal. “Basically telling Jordan to stay in Salem and figure it out, and then Ben comes in and saves the day.”

Ben confronts his sister about the poison while Ciara tries to keep the siblings calm. “She’s trying to diffuse the situation,” explains Konefal. “She knows that it’s really delicate for Ben, especially because of everything that went down the last time Jordan was in town, and she knows that Ben doesn’t want to believe that Jordan is the same as she was before. She’s just trying to let Ben know that she’s by his side no matter what.”

Realizing that she’s busted, Jordan races out with David. Ben is on her heels. Later, Ben comes home with his nephew — but no Jordan. “A huge boulder is lifted off of Ciara’s shoulders,” says Konefal. “She is so happy to see him and the baby are back safely, but then there’s also the concern of where’s Jordan and what is she capable of doing next?”
