The Trick-or-treaters: Kathleen Gati (Liesl), Haley Pullos (Molly) and John J. York (Mac)

-

Favorite Scary Movie

Gati: “Any Alfred Hitchcock movie, like The Birds!”

Pullos: “The Conjuring.”

York: “The Wizard of Oz (those damn flying monkeys)! Result: Scary movies are not my thing.”

Best Candy

Gati: “Candy corn!”

Pullos: “Sour Patch Kids are my all-time favorite candy. I never get tired of them!” York: “Milk Duds.”

Worst Candy

Gati: “Green Jujubes!”

Pullos: “I really don’t like malt balls very much. I used to always give them to my mom if I got some on Halloween!”

York: “Anything with coconut.”

Favorite Pumpkin Dish

Gati: “Pumpkin anything! Right now it’s pumpkin latte! Does that count as a dish? Yum!”

Pullos: “I absolutely love pumpkin pie! Homemade or store-bought, I can always get down on pumpkin pie.”

York: “Pie; what else is there except maybe seeds?”

Spookiest Sound

Gati: “Wind howling!”

Pullos: “I always get pretty freaked out when my house settles and creaks late at night. It sounds like someone is creeping around!”

York: “That’s too personal, but at least I always excuse myself!”

My Best Halloween Costume Ever

Pullos: “My best costume to date is for sure Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction. I went all out for that. I even Superglued a fake syringe to my chest!”

York: “Frank-n-furter .... Oh, a night to be remembered!”

Costume Philosophy: Instantly Recognizable Or More Obscure?

Gati: “More obscure. Creepier!” Pullos: “Honestly, I’m here for both. I love any costume that I can tell someone really put effort into.”

York: “More obscure.”

Buy A Costume Or Make One?

Gati: “Make one.”

Pullos: “Both! I’ve always been a fan of mixing some stuff from costume shops with normal household stuff to make super-unique costumes.”

York: “Buy a cheap one, then add to it.”

Host A Party Or Go To One?

Gati: “Go to one! Difficult to enjoy when you are hosting. Been there, done that, many a time!”

Pullos: “I would much rather go to a party than host one. It’s always fun to get to see how others decorate and get all spooky for the holiday. Plus,

I get too overwhelmed when party planning!”

York: “Go to a party. Who the heck wants to clean up?!”

Haunted Houses: Sign Me Up Or Skip ’Em?

Gati: “Just came back from the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland! Sign me up!”

Pullos: “I’m gonna tentatively say sign me up.

I’d definitely need someone who wouldn’t be as scared as me and they would have to protect me!” York: “Skip haunted houses ... mine’s scary enough!”

Pets In Costumes: Yay Or Nay?

Gati: “Adorable! Why not?”

Pullos: “If the pet doesn’t mind being dressed up, heck, yes!”

York: “Nay on pet costumes. I don’t think they really understand Halloween.”

Couples Costumes: Yay Or Nay?

Gati: “Absolutely! If hubby is willing!!”

Pullos: “Yay, but only as long as both members of the couple really go for it and commit to the costume.”

York: “We tried a horse costume once ... Guess which end I was!”
