When do you feel most beautiwhen ful — dolled up or fresh-faced?

“It’s both for me, actually. There is something so satisfying about taking the time and effort to get all dressed up and meticulously accenting my favorite features, yet there is an entirely different, but equally satisfying feeling when you’re not wearing a stitch of makeup, your skin is glowing, there isn’t a pimple in sight, and my natural curls happen to be particularly bouncy.”

Is there anything you wanted to change about your appearance when you were younger? “I was never very fond of my freckles, but they’ve grown on me over the years. It’s funny; some of the things I was most uncomfortable about when I was younger, the things that made me stand out, are the unique things about myself that I have learned to love the most today.”

What beauty product could you never do without? “I can’t live without lip moisturizer. I almost always have it on me. Laneige Lip [Sleeping] Mask is my absolute

favorite.”

How do you style your hair you’re not working? “I try not to use heat on my hair when I am not working, so it’s a lot of bed head, natural curly hair days when I am not on set. When I do curl my hair, my Enzo Milano curling wand [tapered 1.5 inches] is my best friend.”

What’s a red-carpet look that never fails you? “A good jumpsuit makes me feel incredibly confident on the red carpet. Also, black is a go-to favorite for me.”

Any beauty trends you’re interested in trying? “Actually, I recently ordered a Berkey water filter for my shower. Having a water filter in your shower is supposed to do wonders for your hair and skin. I will have to report back in a few months on my progress with it!”
