What beauty products are you digging right now? “I’m mostly vegan and plant-based, and I have been trying to find cruelty-free brands. I found a brand called ILIA; their products are all organic and cruelty-free and I really like how delicate they are. It kind of gives you a ‘I’m not really wearing makeup, I just naturally look like this’ kind of vibe. They have a wonderful blush stick that you can use for your lips or your cheeks, anything you want to add color to, and a great, light setting powder. I’m a fan of Malin+goetz products, and I also like Aesop, but their products are a little strong in scent sometimes. I stay away from the ones that make me feel like I’ve gotten dropped off in the woods [laughs].”

What’s your favorite drugstore product? “My CVS secret is Strictly Curls by Marc Anthony. I love that stuff! It really helps.”

What would you name as your biggest beauty blunder? “I had a really bad haircut in high school where the lady told me she was going to take one inch off and she took off, like, four or five. It took my hair years to grow back, so I went on a ‘didn’t get my hair cut for like six years’ stint. I was like, ‘No one will ever make me suffer like this again!’ ”

What’s your favorite skin care product? “I have psoriasis and eczema. Luckily, I don’t get it on my face, but I do tend to get dry, patchy spots on my skin, so I use nourishing face masks. I love Fresh’s rose petal mask, the Rose Face Mask. It smells so good and it makes my skin feel like a baby’s.”

What do you wish your younger self had known about makeup? “I actually didn’t start wearing makeup until college. I was a really late bloomer; I was such a tomboy that I really wasn’t interested. But I would probably tell her, ‘You can hold out on this even longer. You’re going to be an actress, you’re going to wear a lot of this later in life, so just enjoy not having anything on your face.’ ”
