DAYS’S ZUCKER RAISES AWARENESS WITH DAYTIME CARES

-

In addition to her new podcast, Everything From A to Z, Arianne Zucker (Nicole, DAYS) is keeping busy putting her charitable efforts into Daytime Cares (www.day timecares.com), a website that has been created to drive awareness and donations to nonprofits, give voice to local charitable efforts and group volunteerism, shine a spotlight on everyday heroes, and assist, where possible, individuals who are struggling for answers and resources during the pandemic.

“Sonia [Blangiardo-goins, DAYS director] and Bob Wall [media sales/marketing executive] talked about creating a website where people could go to sort of have a mash of nonprofits that are doing an amazing job right now during this pandemic and to help direct people,” explains Zucker. “We’re just starting at this point of, ‘How we can better help all of our communities?’ We just wanted to do something more from home because all we can do is sit here and hope we can help.” The goal is to help as many people as possible who need answers about how they can get answers during this difficult time. “We’re all doing this together, so we’re just trying to find that common ground where we can do our best,” she adds.

Zucker has put a lot of effort into the new endeavor. “It’s been a pretty exciting adventure,” she enthuses. “I find it very fulfilling because it at least gives me something that I really love to do. I can’t go out and volunteer, so how can I do it from home?” To get involved, head to www.daytimecares.com. “There are some organizations on the website,” notes Zucker.

“We’re not partnering with them. We don’t touch any money. It all goes through the links that you click to get to the organizations. It’s all isolated in one website instead of everyone having to search, so that’s our goal, to make that grow. It could be for the long haul. We don’t know. This is that kind of website that’s just going to keep building and keep growing and keep offering any kind of information that we can to help people out there.”

As for her podcast, “My through line originally, before the pandemic started, was finding the hero in you,” she explains. “After Kobe [Bryant] passed away and

you see these great people doing great things and how people come together, why can’t we all do something like Kobe? Or JFK? Or Mother Teresa? Why can’t we do all these things on a daily basis? So part of the podcast is really the through line of how do you find that in yourself to be that way on a daily basis?” To check out Zucker’s podcast go to ariannezucker.com.

“We just wanted to do something more from home.”
