■ Everyone appreciates the comforting presence of a familiar face during times of stress and we’re lucky we can invite those faces into our homes. Many of us grew up getting advice from Bert Bauer, Alice Horton and Myrtle Fargate ... What would Nancy Hughes say today? “Go play at the Snyder Pond but stay 6 feet away from Holden”?

Personally, I find it reassuring to watch new episodes of DAYS and GH along with classic Y&R and B&B shows.

■ DAYS is chugging along, but I wish they had more familiar faces. Let’s give Marlena the last word on Orpheus, and strangers Evan and Britt, er, Zoey, fighting for custody of an unseen baby.

Marlena: “What we want is you out of our lives!”

Moving on .... There’s a sweetness (pun intended) to Patch and Kayla’s scenes now that he has his memory back. Their discussion about how she needed him to stop calling her “Sweetness” was heartbreaking, as was his comment that it must be hard for her to view that “mess” under his eye patch.

Kayla: “I could never have a hard time looking at you.”

Aw .... Hope is still flipflopping, but I guess her attachment to Steve makes sense since they were both brainwashed.

Steve: “Patch is back, baby!”

Hope invited him to move in, so now they can sip hot cocoa and reminisce about the chips in their brains. It’s hard to keep track of all the mental illness in Salem — just ask former amnesiac Jack and his DID daughter, Abigail, who finally had a heart-to-heart.

Jack: “You’ve always been strong, even when you don’t know it. Gabi is trying to make you feel crazy.”

Cut to:

Gabi: “Why does everybody keep asking if I drugged Abigail?”

Kate: “Because they know you.”

Ha! Welcome back, Stefan ... or whoever you are. ■ Speaking of redeeming characters, GH’S effort with Valentin is up there. Charlotte’s turn to the dark side (which “Papa” knew about because she charged the snake found in Ava’s

Cut GH a break if their “classics” only go back to 2013.

purse to “Reptile Roundup”) moved him to stop fighting for custody.

Valentin (to Laura): “She needs you to teach her to be good because I can’t do that.”

Giving up his only loved one for her own benefit? How un-cassadine like.

GH could use a few more familiar faces, though.

Sam (to Brando): “I need you to understand that Molly and TJ are back together.”

Who? We hadn’t seen Molly and TJ for months
