■ How has your quarantine been going? “I’ve been as great as can be, all things considered. Staying busy. I went back to one of my old hobbies, jobs, whatever you want to call it, that I was doing before I did DAYS, which is trading commodities, so I’ve been staying busy Monday through Friday. I wish I could work out more; that’s the thing that COVID has derailed. Other than that, everything has been pretty good.”

So, Evan is sent to prison, which marks the end of your DAYS run for now. How would you characterize your overall experience?

“It went by in the blink of an eye. I really loved being there, being on set, working with everybody. There’s so many talented actors, directors, producers, and it’s firing on all cylinders. I had a really positive experience. The only negative is that it was just too quick.”

You were given some incredibly emotional material throughout your run. Did you expect that to happen?

“It definitely kept me on my toes. I had a different idea of where the character was going, considering the audition process. I was really pleasantly surprised with it. It was just different than what I envisioned, or at least what we talked about. But it was great overall. I’m sad that it had to end.”

The final scenes that we see are with Sonny, who gets

Evan to make a huge confession about the night of Maggie’s accident. What do you remember about what happens in those scenes? “He just lets Evan have it. It’s one of those scenes where you receive information where it’s so shocking that your teeth just go numb and there’s nothing you can do. There’s nothing you can say.”

Was it a full-circle moment that your final scenes were with Freddie Smith (Sonny), who was basically there since the beginning? “Yeah, it was. He’s a consummate professional, as I’ve continually said. He’s given so much to this storyline. It was fitting for it to end that way, just laying it out on the line.”

This was your second time at DAYS. Would you be up for a third if Evan gets out of prison? “Well, let’s see how he gets out of prison, right? Of course, I mean, I would love to come back. Is his father involved? Does he throw himself out? How is it going to happen?”

What have you been up to since wrapping? “I shot a film called BLACK HEARTED KILLER. It aired recently on Lifetime. I’ve been auditioning a lot. Even in quarantine, auditions are still coming in, so I’ve been putting some self-tapes together and just trying to stay sane, read, do workouts if possible, a little running, spend time with the fam, all that good stuff.”

Would you do another soap? “I love soaps. I love that platform. Of course, I would love to do another soap but I’m so loyal to DAYS OF OUR LIVES, so I would hope to stick around with them rather than jump ship.”
