SAY IT WITH FLOWERS

Franco surprises Liz at work with a gigantic bouquet of flowers, wanting to make amends for casting aspersions on her artistic talent. Talk turns to Nikolas, and Liz reflects on her complicated feelings for her longtime friend. When Ava arrives to give Franco his commission for her portrait, she tries to manipulate Liz toward Nik. The chasm between Liz and Franco deepens on account of Liz’s resentment of Ava’s exploitation of Franco’s unsavory past.

DECISION TIME

Lulu visits Laura and, assuming that her mom doesn’t intend to attend the unveiling of Ava’s

portrait, offers to decline the invitation to Wyndemere on their behalf. Laura explains that she plans to go in order to show Nikolas that she still loves him. Nik shows up and fills in his mother and sister about the letter he received from Spencer.

Laura gently offers her two cents about how he should proceed. Nik expresses his gratitude, then reaches out to his son, prepared to respond to Spencer’s ultimatum. Ava presses Nikolas about what he decided to tell his son.

HEARING TEST

Before Wiley’s custody trial resumes, Nelle consults with Martin, assuring him that she’s done everything in her power to guarantee a victory, including lining up a compelling character witness in Nina.

Meanwhile, Jax goes to Crimson to offer his support to Nina. She opens up about her conflicted feelings about taking the stand, but feels compelled to stand up for Nelle. Jax reminds her that if she’s wrong about Nelle deserving a second chance, Wiley will pay the price — and Nina will blame herself. After they talk it out, Nina makes her final decision about whether to help, or hinder, Nelle at the hearing.

LIFE GOES ON?

Robert is doggedly determined to investigate the possibility that Holly is alive. Laura prays that he’s right about his exwife’s survival, but urges him not to get his hopes up. After, Robert goes to the Quartermaine mansion and asks Ned to get in touch with Luke via Tracy. Ned steps out to call his mother, and Scorpio ends

up consoling Olivia about Dante. Ned isn’t thrilled about Olivia and Robert’s growing closeness.

TRIAL AND TRIBULATIONS

Wiley’s hearing resumes. Julian shows up to the courtroom reeking of booze. Carly, Michael and Willow are first to testify. Carly paints a devastating picture of Nelle, but when Martin cross-examines her, he calls both Carly’s credibility and her sanity into question. For his part, Michael speaks poignantly about his love for Wiley, and handles Martin’s probing cross-examination about his quickie marriage to Willow. Martin scores some points when he cross-examines Willow, but Diane is able to undo some of the damage. Martin then calls his first witness: Nelle. When she takes the stand, she gives the performance of

a lifetime, much to the disgust of Carly, Michael and Willow. Julian fumes when Martin calls him to testify next. Sam is outraged by Julian’s testimony and spits that she wants him out of her life for good.
