Y&R: Ashland And Victor Face Off

-

■ After Ashland decides to sell Cyaxares to Victoria instead of Victor, Victor tries to save the deal, prompting an angry Victoria to confront her father. “When Victoria senses that Ashland is having a change of heart about accepting her bid, she accuses Victor of betrayal and outmaneuvering her,” says Co-executive Producer/head Writer Josh Griffith. “This doesn’t sit well with Victor, who insists that Victoria is only interested in Ashland’s company to protect Billy.”

Victoria then points out that all those speeches her dad made through the years about supporting his children only seem to apply to Adam. “Things quickly go from bad to worse as Victor and Victoria both defend their actions,” Griffith explains. “Victoria believes that Victor has a blind spot when it comes to Adam. She feels that Victor is constantly giving Adam a pass while everyone else in the family has to follow a different set of rules. Nikki arrives and tries to mediate, which only makes things worse between Victor and Victoria.”

After Victoria leaves, a tardy Ashland shows up, and Victor becomes upset when he wants to change the terms of their original deal. “To Victor Newman, a deal is a deal,” notes Griffith.

“He doesn’t act kindly to Ashland now using Adam’s legal problems to his advantage when renegotiating their deal, especially since Victor believes that Adam is innocent and is being framed.”

Victor stands his ground and refuses to make any changes to their agreement. Just when it looks like a stalemate could ruin everything, “An unexpected turn of events gives Victor the upper hand,” hints Griffith. “Victor will use this to his advantage to close the deal with Ashland once and for all — but not without consequences.”

“Things quickly go from bad to worse.”
