James Patrick Stuart (Valentin) is thrilled that Amanda Setton is back on GH as Brook Lynn. “She’s the best!” he declares. “What’s so funny is, when I’m on set with Amanda, it just somehow feels like we’re on the set of a sitcom back in the ’90s — it feels like Must-see TV all over again because she is funny. She doesn’t even have to try to be funny! She clearly could have been prime-time sitcom material. The fun thing is that Frank [Valentini, executive producer] and the writers realize that, that she doesn’t have to try to be funny to be funny, so rarely do they not let her do her thing. Even when she’s being serious, there’s a humor there, and they seem to be writing that and playing to that more often. So the trick is to not just instantly try to go to funny, because it betrays what the story is really looking for.” According to the actor, Setton’s gifts as a comedienne are on display well before the cameras roll. “There are some great comedic moments in rehearsal with that woman, believe me! She’s just a very gifted performer. Endlessly entertaining and funny.”
