YOUNG AND RESTLESS Shocker At “Skyle” Party

Hours before Kyle and Summer’s engagement party, the future groom is trying to maintain a happy facade. “He’s excited but he has this constant wonder if he did the right thing by letting Harrison keep living his life with Ashland and Tara,” says Michael Mealor (Kyle). “Kyle is marrying the love of his life so he’s trying to use that enthusiasm to overshadow his decision to never see Harrison.”

Later, Jack presents his son with John Abbott’s pocket watch. “Jack is praising Kyle for growing up and making the right choices but there’s this underlying feeling with Kyle of, ‘No, I haven’t,’ ” shares Mealor. “The more genuine that Jack is, the guiltier Kyle feels. He’s feeling very unworthy about receiving this family heirloom because of this secret he’s harboring about Harrison.”

At the party, Jack is giving a toast that’s interrupted by the arrival of an uninvited guest, who stuns Kyle. Mealor adds, “The moment where Kyle’s future is looking the brightest, he sees someone he least expected to see — especially on this night.”

GENERAL HOSPITAL Peter Toys With Anna

After appearing to be on the mend after receiving a dose of antidote, Chase takes a turn for the worse — and Anna is desperate to save him.

Although responsible for Chase’s condition, Peter isn’t losing sleep. “Collateral damage, nothing more,” sniffs Wes Ramsey (Peter). “Peter’s hard-won sense of conscience nurtured by Anna melted away with the ultimate betrayal at the wedding.” Anna pleads with Peter to deliver another vial of the critical elixir — and Peter takes great pleasure in toying with his aunt before ultimately delivering the goods. Ramsey explains, “He wants to exert control — because it was taken from him; he wants to enact pain — because it was inflicted upon him; [and] he sees her as the symbol for all of this.”

Even as Peter willfully expands his rap sheet, Ramsey contends that Peter is still confident that he will get away with his crimes and win Maxie back, to boot. “I think he believes his own delusions of grandeur at this point and is willing to do anything to reclaim his version of the future,” he says.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES Nicole Sleeps With Xander

Eric contacts Nicole to say he isn’t coming home for a while, and it sends her over the edge. “He’s going to be gone months with this next excursion of his and she’s really upset because this is not what she signed up for,” says Arianne Zucker (Nicole). “She knows that he has a love for what he does, and she doesn’t want to stop him from doing that, but she didn’t think it would be this long.”

Nicole hits the bottle to drown her sorrows and runs into Xander at the Brady pub. “She’s really sad and hurt and angry, and she goes to the pub and she ends up wallowing in her misery, and he’s in his own misery, and a plus b equals c,” muses Zucker. “Two people just commiserating together and finding a strange common ground, which is really the alcohol, but also the sadness.”

They end up sleeping together, and the next morning, Nicole gets some clarity. “From the second she wakes up and sees him, she knows it’s the biggest mistake she’s ever made,” sighs Zucker. “She’s just devastated and so embarrassed for herself.”

DAYS OF OUR LIVES Gabi And Jake Make Love

Reeling from “Kate” (really Kristen) breaking up with him, Jake turns to Gabi. “He’s pretty smashed,” acknowledges Jake’s portrayer, Brandon Barash. “He’s kind of put all of his eggs in one proverbial basket. As far as being a great partner, romantically and in business, Jake is just all in on her, so it hurts. It’s like having the rug pulled out from under your life.”

Gabi slaps Jake after he makes a pass at her. Jake later apologizes and she urges him not to give up on love. After a chat with Xander, Jake declares that Gabi is the only woman for him. And he means it. “Once that relationship [with Kate] ended, he’s like, ‘Oh, I can think about this again,’ and it enters your mind and you’re given the room to let it breathe and percolate and suss out what’s going to happen, so he lets it in a little bit.”

The two make love. “It marks a new chapter for them,” previews Barash. “Jake wholeheartedly knows it’s not a mistake. Where it really catches up with him is when Kate shows up .... ”
