DAYS: Kristen Traps Sami And Lucas
■ Sami spies Nicole and Xander entering the Salem Inn together, but before she has a chance to follow them, she runs into John and Marlena, and informs them that Brady has been in an accident and is in the hospital. “Sami is outraged at Nicole’s behavior; she’s immediately suspicious,” says Alison Sweeney (Sami). “She gets distracted dealing with Brady in the hospital, but of course, she’s not going to let Nicole get away with that!”
After the Blacks head to the hospital, Sami is about to knock on Xander’s door to investigate further, but gets a call from Kristen, who needs help recapturing Kate. Sami refuses. “I love that Sami is trying to have a good ‘working’ relationship with Kristen, but when she decides she has to hurt Kate, Sami has to draw a line,” explains Sweeney. “She isn’t going to go along with that. And I love that even Sami has boundaries.”
A frustrated Kristen decides to drug Sami. “Sami tells Kristen she’s going too far,” previews Sweeney. “Sami decides she has to tell Rafe so he can help Kate. And Kristen jabs a needle in her. Sami tries to fight, but it’s too late.” Kristen stashes Sami in a secret room chez Dimera, where she is then joined by Lucas. “Sami is desperate to get out when all of a sudden, Lucas gets shoved into the dungeon with her.”
“Kristen’s plan is crumbling around her.”
Adds Head Writer Ron Carlivati, “Kristen’s plan is crumbling around her and it seems like once a week, somebody gets on to her, and the number of people she has to conk over the head and get rid of is piling up. We went from Sarah to Kate to now Sami and Lucas are on to her, as well, so as the walls are closing in, she’s somehow trying to desperately hold this plan together, and throws Sami and Lucas into the Dimera basement. It will be fun to watch the two of them navigate that situation, where they’ve slept together once and Sami had regretted it, but we know there’s still something there between them and we know that Lucas feels he would be a better partner for her than EJ. So they are down there in this kind of lifeand-death situation, where Kristen is probably planning to finish them off, so it will be interesting to see what comes out between the two of them as far as their relationship goes.”
In the meantime, though, “Sami hates feeling trapped and she feels like there is no one coming to rescue her,” laments Sweeney.
