B&B: Quinn And Carter’s Affair Heats Up
■ While trying to cope with their respective romantic dramas, Carter and Quinn turn to each other and begin an affair. “These are two people who are both hurting in their relationships,” points out Lawrence Saintvictor (Carter). “So, they have this bond. After they started talking about what they are missing in their lives, they realized that they are both lonely — and through talking, they both felt valued for the first time in quite a while. I don’t think they even recognized it at first, but they do now.”
The two grow even closer and find common ground. “This friendship has started, and it’s funny because while there is a comfort level there, this entire thing should be awkward between them,” asserts the actor. “And it is. But there’s also a weird comfort level there, where they can be themselves with each other. Things get more playful between the two of them.”
The duo realizes that they’re getting into very dangerous territory. “It begins to get really complicated,” chuckles Saint-victor. “Carter is actually a good guy. In his mind, he’s really not interested in his own feelings. Zoe is still a part of the picture. He cares for Quinn. He cares for her marriage to Eric, but he is also seeing sides to Quinn that he has never seen before, and that is beyond his ability to comprehend. I wish Lawrence could tell Carter, ‘You shouldn’t be falling for Quinn. You’d be crazy to do that!’ But I don’t think he’d listen [laughs].”
Expect the situation to get worse before it gets better, teases the actor. “Things are about to get so much more complex,” Saint-victor adds. “Carter has feelings for Zoe that are not going to go away. But as Carter gets closer to Quinn, he doesn’t know up from down anymore, and that is what is so interesting. She is the last person he should be falling for. She’s practically his archnemesis because of his friendship with Ridge. This just ups the stakes — and the bonds from here on out are going to get very messy.”
