Q In a recent Roundup in your magazine, Cait Fairbanks, who plays Tessa on Y&R, says she wishes her character never stole Mariah’s diary. I don’t remember that ever happening. Can you explain what that was all about? S.T., via email
A Before Tessa and Mariah became a couple, the former was a singer signed to Devon’s record label and was under the gun to compose a new original song in 2018. Tessa was experiencing writer’s block and purloined Mariah’s diary, in which Ms. Copeland confessed her true feelings for Tessa. Moved by what she read, Tessa misappropriated Mariah’s words and used them as the lyrics for her new song, but when Tessa sang it live on THE HILARY HOUR, Mariah recognized her journal entries, stopped the performance and called Tessa a thief. The song had to be pulled and Devon released Tessa from her recording contract. Q I’m looking forward to seeing Cameron Mathison on GH. I remember the WHAT IF… web series that mixed up characters from ALL MY CHILDREN, GH and ONE LIFE TO LIVE. I think he was on one of the episodes when he was playing Ryan on AMC. Am I right, and did he appear opposite someone from GH? D.F., via email
A Good memory! Mathison appeared in an installment of the 2010 series WHAT IF... opposite GH’S Laura Wright (Carly). The episode was called “Ryan and Carly: How To Be Bad”. Q Please settle this. I love Maree Cheatham. Loved her as DAYS’S Marie. Loved her as Lucy’s Aunt Charlene on GH. I remember she was also on KNOTS LANDING as Laura’s mother, but my sister said her character was a fraud. A Sis knows best! Cheatham showed up in Seaview Circle in the prime-time soap’s 13th season, claiming to be the late Laura’s longestranged biological mother, Mary Robeson, and made a play to get custody of her “granddaughter” Meg from guardians Karen and Mack. Mack was willing to pay Mary off but Karen refused. It turned out that Mary was actually Laura’s aunt, and Laura’s mother had died during childbirth. Mack was arrested when Mary turned up dead, but eventually he was proven innocent. Q Am I remembering correctly that someone played Cameron on GH before William Lipton took over, but after the character was aged and Michael Leone left? N.H., via email
You are right. When Leone ended his five-year run as Cameron in 2018, another actor, Cade Mcwatt, played the role for a few episodes in July 2018 before Lipton debuted in August. Q Who is B&B’S Thomas named after? Thanks. Liz K., via email
A Thomas Hamilton Forrester got his first name from the place where Ridge proposed to Taylor — St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. His middle name, Hamilton, is Taylor’s maiden name.
