YOUNG AND RESTLESS Kyle And Harrison’s DNA Test
Tara and Harrison hide out at the Abbott manse until a DNA test can be run to prove Kyle is the boy’s father. On the day that samples will be gathered from Kyle and Harrison, Summer is present for support. “Summer is struggling a lot more on the inside than what she’s showing on the outside,” explains Hunter King (Summer). “She’s trying to keep it together but it’s harder on her than what she’s letting on. She’s trying to put on a brave face for Kyle but doubts and insecurities are really preying on her mind.”
Kyle promises Tara that once there’s proof that Harrison is his son, they’ll tell Ashland. “Summer has a secret hope that Kyle isn’t the dad,” King admits. “Everything would be simple again and they could go back to planning their wedding.”
Cheek swabs are taken and whisked away for testing, and King notes, “Summer feels becoming more mature has better prepared her for anything, but she doesn’t realize how much her life is about to change.”
BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL Shauna Deals With Fallout
Shauna’s lie that she’s Carter’s new love was a welcome twist for her portrayer, Denise Richards. “As soon as I read it, that Shauna didn’t even hesitate, she just jumped right in and didn’t even think about what the consequences would be, she was just there for her friend, I loved that,” enthuses the actress. “She covered for her friend, and she took the fall.”
Now that word is getting out about Shauna and Carter’s “affair”, it is making life more complicated for her. “Shauna knows how badly Quinn wants to fix her marriage,” sighs Richards. “She understands where Quinn is coming from after Eric gave her the cold shoulder. I think Shauna is disappointed she’d betray her husband but also she knows how much Quinn loves him, so she took the fall to keep their marriage from not falling apart.” But Shauna is the one who pays the price, adds Richards. “It’s difficult because in that impulse, I don’t think she anticipated it going further, and to see it spiral as it has really put Shauna in a vulnerable position.”
GENERAL HOSPITAL Elijah Busts Nina
After she and “Mike” return from Corinth, Nina goes on another date with Elijah so as not to tip him off to the fact that she’s wise to his illegal activity.
Once the date is underway, Eli tries to suss out if Nina, and not just “Mike”, was involved in his recent office break-in. “I think he is trying to find out how involved she is and how much damage has been done,” explains Dan White (Elijah). “He knows someone printed all this incriminating stuff on his printer. In his mind, it was possibly her. It’s a game of cat and mouse, and she’s playing bait as the mouse trying to draw Eli into a trap.” For his part, “Eli is really hoping that she is not the one with those documents. He does genuinely like her and would like for things to work out — especially if that means ‘Mike’ is out of the picture!”
But things take a potentially dangerous turn when Eli finds that the papers are indeed in Nina’s possession. “A switch is definitely flipped,” White reports. “They say an animal is most dangerous when it has its back to the wall. I don’t think that’s any different for a person — and Elijah’s back is definitely to the wall.”
DAYS OF OUR LIVES Brady Dumps Kristen
Brady is stunned when Lucas reveals that Kristen almost had him and Sami killed. “He’s extremely disappointed,” sighs Eric Martsolf (Brady). “It’s not like he’s completely surprised because he knows what she’s capable of; he’s not oblivious to her past and her tendencies. She is a classic Dimera villain and they all tend to go back to their wicked ways once in a while even though there’s a softness underneath. Brady was hoping Kristen had changed and she was a different person, but he’s finding out that leopards don’t change their spots so easily.”
Brady realizes that things aren’t going to work with Kristen and breaks up with her. “The trust factor goes out the window after awhile,” Martsolf notes. “He makes a definite decision to say, ‘Listen, I love who you are but I don’t love what you do. I can’t raise a daughter with someone I don’t trust.’ And she has this tendency to go nuts and she’s been doing that lately. How can you maintain a relationship with someone like that?”
