GENERAL HOSPITAL Chase Ponders His Feelings
Brook Lynn and Chase have finally kissed — but Chase isn’t quite sure what it portends, because shortly thereafter, Brook Lynn takes off for Bensonhurst.
“It’s so new, and the kiss was so longawaited, that there are so many different feelings,” muses Chase’s portrayer, Josh Swickard. “They almost fell into it, but at the same time, in my mind, both of them wanted it, to some degree. Chase very much wanted it to happen. But he didn’t get the reaction he probably dreamt of! So it’s, ‘Oh, this is great! Oh, is it great? Oh, no! Why is it not great?’ It’s definitely not what he expected; it didn’t go as planned. But when things go as planned on a soap opera, something’s wrong [laughs]!”
Chase opens up to Finn about the smooch, and his brother encourages him to go for it with Brook Lynn when she gets back. “Chase can definitely secondguess his feelings, so hearing that from his brother gives him some clarity,” Swickard says. “Now, we’ll have to wait and see how their first meeting after that first kiss goes. But hopefully, Chase and Brook Lynn can get to a good place.”
YOUNG AND RESTLESS Victor Needs Nick’s Help
Victor is determined to squeeze Ashland out of the company and Victoria’s life. To that end, Victor summons Nick and Adam to discuss a plan; however, Nick is immediately suspicious. “Anything that Adam is a part of still gives Nick reason to pause,” says Joshua Morrow (Nick). “Anytime Nick is told to come to a meeting, obviously there’s something afoot. He’s a little leery about what that could be.”
Victor claims there’s a new development about Ashland, but Nick isn’t interested. “When Nick was first asking questions about Ashland, the family didn’t stand behind him, even when he turned out to be right,” Morrow notes. “The last time Nick went down that road, it backfired and it’s still backfiring because he and Victoria are barely speaking to each other.”
This time, Victor insists that Ashland’s latest secret not only threatens Newman/ Locke, but the fate of the whole family, Nick included. Morrow explains, “Victor warns Nick that it would be a mistake to walk away, so is he willing to take that risk again or will he get sucked back into the family drama for Victoria’s sake?”
BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL Carter And Paris Make Love
Despite Grace’s warnings to leave Paris alone, Carter can’t stop thinking about her. “What can I say?” chuckles Lawrence Saint-victor (Carter). “Paris definitely makes him happy. She’s an incredible woman. She’s beautiful. She’s smart. She’s kind, and they were friends first. They just really clicked.”
The two make love, which could prove problematic, since Grace is determined to reunite her daughter with Zende. “Yeah, that’s not so good,” notes the actor. “This is not a good place for Carter to be in, given his history with Zoe and with Quinn. But at the same time, the heart wants what the heart wants, and Carter has denied his feelings so many times in the past that maybe this is the time when he just goes for it.”
As for Grace, he hedges, “Grace is a force to be reckoned with, for sure, but right now Carter just wants to follow his heart and find some happiness. I think it’s great, and it’s going to be a fun story.”
DAYS OF OUR LIVES Chad And Tony To The Rescue
Chad and Tony arrive on the Dimera private island, where Chad reunites with and rescues Abigail, and Tony encounters Sarah, who runs into his arms. Tony finds the overzealous greeting “to be intrusive”, asserts his portrayer, Thaao Penghlis. “It throws him off-guard.”
Tony quickly learns that Sarah is obsessed with him, wrongly believing she’s his late fiancée, Renee Dumonde. “Tony realizes there’s something wrong with this girl,” notes Penghlis. “He has to placate this person who thinks she’s somebody else, and that somebody else is someone he was very much in love with. He goes along on the ride with Sarah so he doesn’t upset things.”
Upon returning to Salem, Tony tells Anna about Sarah’s belief that she’s Renee. “He tries to make Anna understand the situation, and it becomes very emotional for both of them,” recounts Penghlis. “When you’re dealing with someone who has a mental illness, you don’t know where they’re coming from or what they’ll do.”
