OVER DUO: Jack Abbott and Sharon Newman
ROMANCE REPORT:
After the breakup of her marriage to Nick and the end of his disastrous affair with Phyllis,
Sharon and Jack were two wounded souls who found comfort in commiserating together at Jabot, where she served as the company spokesperson. A sweet affection developed and they began dating.
With Sharon’s support, Jack decided to run for State
Senate and the pair tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at her house in April 2007. Jack won the election but before he could make his mark, he was forced to resign for falsifying his father’s will. Jack regrouped by throwing in with Nick and their wives (Phyllis included) to develop a new web/print magazine called Restless Style. The venture was a hit but the couples were soon bickering over creative differences, with Nick eventually buying out his partner. Jack’s undying lust for revenge against Victor soon alienated Sharon, and when her husband’s role in forging Victor’s diary came out, she filed for divorce in 2009, just shy of their second anniversary. Today, Jack and Sharon are pals who occasionally seek each other out for support and advice.
