OVER DUO: Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV and Chloe Mitchell
ROMANCE REPORT: In 2009, Chance returned to Genoa City after serving in the Army and was immediately smitten with Chloe, who was in a dead-end marriage to his uncle, Billy. As Chance and Chloe got closer, he admitted to still being a virgin, and after finding out that Billy was in love with Mackenzie, Chloe and Chance started dating openly. Still, Chloe was hung up on Billy and dragged her heels on a divorce, hoping Billy would change his mind. It wasn’t until Chance, who had joined the GCPD, almost died while trying to stop a robbery that Chloe realized she loved him and ended her marriage. Chance and Chloe finally made love in 2010, even though she turned down his first proposal. When Heather, the assistant DA, began flirting with the cop, Chloe agreed to marry him. Heather became a target of a drug ring, so Chance was assigned as her bodyguard and they ended up having sex, which he tried to conceal from Chloe. After he confessed to the slip-up, Chloe gave back his ring, but she clearly didn’t hold a grudge, since in 2019, she raved about her ex, describing him as “honest and trustworthy”.
