When the rivals eventually ran into each other, Abby was shocked that her fiancé’s ex-girlfriend was Mariah Copeland, the late Cassie look-alike Victor hired to gaslight Sharon (who was eventually revealed to be Cassie’s twin sis). Since Mariah had charges of burglary still pending in Portland, Victor had her arrested and sent back to Oregon. When Tyler flew to the West Coast to help Mariah, a fed-up Abby broke off their engagement. Tyler left town in 2014, but Abby and Mariah became best friends, with Mariah serving as maid of honor at Abby’s 2020 wedding to Chance as well as the couple’s surrogate, giving birth to their son, Dominic, in 2021.
