DAYS: BO AND HOPE REUNITE!

-

■ Bo and Hope finally reconnect, and it’s a can’t-miss moment. “This is the money shot,” begins Head Writer Ron Carlivati. “This is what people are tuning in to see in the storyline. You don’t want to do that on day one, you want to have a build, so that there’s a big moment that happens when they come together. So we knew we had Peter [Reckell, Bo] and Kristian [Alfonso, Hope] for a limited amount of time, and the idea was to build those two trains on the track where Hope is searching for Megan, not realizing she’s going to find Bo.”

And she does just that when she arrives at Victor’s childhood home, unaware that Bo has been brainwashed by Megan. “They finally come face to face, which is the moment we’ve been waiting for,” sets up Carlivati. “And of course, underneath that is the thought, ‘Is Hope going to be the one to be able to break through to him when Kayla and Steve couldn’t do it? When he sees his Fancy Face, is it going to bring him out of it?’ So there’s that big moment that the two actors play just brilliantly because they know each other so well and give you that connection.”

Hope soon realizes that Bo seems different. “Hope is sort of knocked for a loop when she realizes he’s not the Bo that she remembers, so, there’s this moment of joy and then confusion and then it’s, ‘Wait a minute, he’s not Bo. How do I break through to this?’ ” says Carlivati. “Obviously, if anyone can do it, it’s Hope and their love that’s going to bring him out of this. So it becomes about Hope’s attempt to bust through to the real Bo, and I don’t want to spoil too much, but you can imagine with the power of that history and that relationship and that love between them that there is a pretty good chance that if anyone can knock down these walls, it’s her.”

But there’s other drama in play as well: Shawn is also in Greece and looking for his parents. “So, while we’re on the edge of our seat while this reunion is happening, there’s other elements of the story in place,” notes the scribe. “We have Shawn on the case and Steve and Kayla on the case and Harris warning Shawn that Hope is possibly in danger, all kind of converging on this Greek villa.”

Expect fireworks, promises Carlivati. “At the height of that big moment, the moment where we see Bo’s defenses breaking down, the moment where Hope is breaking through to him and that reunion is about to happen, intervening forces are going to kind of have a giant impact on how this reunion plays out,” he teases. “This is what the audience has been tuning into the story to see and you can’t miss these episodes.”
