B&B: BILL PURSUES KATIE
■ Now that the Sheila dust has settled, Bill sets his sights on wooing Katie once again. “Trying to convince Katie that he had moved on, in the worst possible way, was extremely hard,” says Don Diamont (Bill). “Now that the truth is out, he is hoping for a new outcome.”
With Carter present, Bill attempts to get Katie to admit she still loves him, but Katie doesn’t take the bait, as she is quite happy in her new relationship. “I don’t know if Bill has taken the time to contemplate all the repercussions of his actions,” points out Heather Tom (Katie). “I think he’s confident that when everybody totally understands what his objectives were and what he had to do to get there, everybody had to suffer, unfortunately, to accomplish the goal, but no one more than Bill. But, Katie has moved on.”
When Bill suggests they make another attempt at a relationship, Katie balks. “Katie and Carter have a very charming trajectory,” she smiles. “It’s like, ‘You’ve been hiding in plain sight all this time.’ It feels like she’s known him a long time, but she really doesn’t know him — but she’s enjoying getting to know him. She’s in a good place.”
However, Bill won’t back off. “Bill is always a complicated person for

Katie,” reflects Tom. “Not just because they have a child together but because they’ve grown as human beings together, and he is not always that good for her. In fact, a lot of times, he was not that good for her [laughs]. He doesn’t always treat her as she deserves to be treated, and at the same time, she will always have a connection to him, and an affection for him. He always seems to pop up just when she’s getting her life back together. We’ll see what kind of curveball that throws into things. It makes for an interesting dynamic, considering she is with Carter and building a love story with him, but co-parenting is a complication. She will always love and care about Bill, but this is her own time. Katie just wants to be happy, and she deserves that.”
