Y&R: NICK AND VICTOR CLASH

-

■ After being summoned to Society by Victor for a meeting, Nick’s guard instinctively goes up. “There’s usually some element to their conversation that Nick is not going to appreciate and he knows it,” says Joshua Morrow (Nick). “So he goes into this with not very high expectations.”

The men sit down at a table and Victor announces that he’s not only acquired Mccall Unlimited, but he wants Nick to help run the company with Adam. “Victor has sort of accepted that Nick doesn’t want to be the CEO of anything, but Victor knows that Nick gets things done as Victoria’s COO, at Newman Enterprises,” Morrow points out. “Victor trusts that Nick can provide the same support as Adam’s COO. Victor knows it’s a pretty huge undertaking to be CEO and that it might be putting too much on Adam. Plus, Victor just wants Nick and Adam to be closer than they are, so this essentially puts them in the same room to work stuff out.”

Nick adamantly refuses to go along with his father’s plan. “He has no interest in working with Adam,” the actor notes. “Victor has these unrealistic hopes that these guys will put their heads together and work harmoniously side by side even though they’re on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to issues and even life. And that’s when Victor’s true ulterior motive is revealed.”

Victor wants Nick to get closer to his brother and understand the depth of Adam’s love for Sally, “so that Nick will do the right thing and back away from her,” Morrow explains. “But that’s not going to happen. Every person in his family diminishes Nick’s affection for Sally. He’s crazy about her.”

Nick walks out on his dad, and it’s obvious that it leaves Victor with food for thought. “Victor doesn’t quit until he gets what he wants,” Morrow acknowledges. “Nick knows there are always layers to Victor’s plans that will no doubt include some shady machinations when it comes to Sally, which Nick will soon find out about.”

“Nick knows there are always layers to Victor’s plans.”
