Y&R: DEVON REUNITES WITH MALCOLM AND HARMONY

-

■ At the GCAC, Devon prepares to honor his late father, Neil. “It was Abby, Nikki and Victor’s brainchild to organize this memorial to officially dedicate the jazz lounge in Neil’s name,” says Bryton James (Devon). “This is extremely special, just because of how permanent it will be. This is like the equivalent of Chancellor Park, which is named after Devon’s grandmother, Katherine.”

Devon is stunned, then thrilled, when his mother, Yolanda, who is still going by Harmony, shows up at the event. “You can tell that she and Devon are in a very good place with their relationship,” notes James. “The last time that Harmony was in town, they ended on great terms.

She was there when he got his hearing restored without the cochlear implant, which was the last big storyline that was going on when she was on the canvas. They even mention that they’ve been keeping in touch through texts and phone calls. Harmony has gotten a degree over the last few years and she’s now helping others, so Devon is very proud of his mom and over the moon to see her again.”

Harmony reveals that Tucker is the reason that she was able to make it back to Genoa City. “She explains that Tucker found out she was in Chicago for a conference and arranged for a car to pick her up and bring her over,” shares the actor. “Tucker is humble about it, which is surprising because he’s a boastful type of guy who usually takes credit for everything. This time, he just tells Devon it was nothing.”

Then comes surprise No. 2, when Devon’s Uncle Malcolm shows up. “Devon and Lily are really happy to see him, and Malcolm is blown away by the Neil Winters Jazz Lounge,” James enthuses. “They all have a wonderful time reminiscing about Neil. At one point, Devon tells everyone he has an important announcement and it will turn out to be a major turning point in his life.”

“It will turn out to be a major turning point in his life.”
