JOSH FLAGG ON DAYS ROLE

-

■ MILLION DOLLAR LISTING: LOS ANGELES star Josh Flagg was intrigued when he was approached to play DAYS’S Yuri. “I think that they thought it was a good match for the character,” recalls Flagg of how the role came his way. “They said I was very similar to the character, so I guess I didn’t have to do much acting.”

Performing wasn’t new to Flagg. “When I was a kid I did some TV movies and I also did theater camp,” he shares. As a result, he wasn’t battling nerves on day one. “No, not at all,” he shares. “I mean, I have a pretty good memory and memorizing lines is not that difficult. I did a little improv on some of the lines and they didn’t mind. So I didn’t hit every line exactly the way it was, but we didn’t do any retakes. So I guess they liked my tweaks.”

In the scenes that aired May 12, tech giant Yuri met with Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) for a potential Titan venture. “We did a few scenes and it was good fun,” he reports. “They were lovely to work with. Very, very friendly, very easygoing. It was very quick. We didn’t spend hours on the scenes. It was super-easy, good synergy.”

Flagg reveals that there were some MDL viewers

on the set. “Quite a few people were fans of the show. It’s been on for over

15 years. It’s a fun show and people really enjoy watching it.” But he’s the first to admit he never expected to still be a part of it. “When I started the show, I was 21 years old.

I’m now 37. I never thought in my wildest ideas I’d be filming 16 years later. I would say after four or five years, I thought, ‘Oh, okay. Well, this has got to wrap up after a while,’ but it kept going. And the ratings just keep going up every year. I think that says a lot. We’re one of the oldest shows on Bravo and we have a really loyal fan base.”

Flagg, who was familiar with the soap — “I watched DAYS OF OUR LIVES when I was a kid here and there. Everyone knows DAYS OF OUR LIVES” — would be open to a return at some point. “It would be my absolute pleasure; I really enjoyed it,” he enthuses. “I look forward to doing more with DAYS. They’re a wonderful group of people and I think it’s a fantastic show.”
