DAYS: TALIA FIGURES IT OUT
■ Talia is taken aback when Colin steps up his plan to harm Paulina and Chanel. “This is all shocking to Talia,” says Aketra Sevillian (Talia) of discovering her beau’s dark side. “This isn’t the man she fell in love with. She didn’t think he was capable of any of this until everything starts to unfold and one person after the other is getting hurt.”
After Jada does some digging into Colin’s schemes, she goes to meet Talia, who is starting to do the same. “Talia finds Colin’s family photo album. That’s when she puts everything together,” explains Sevillian. “She has an ‘aha moment’ when she’s talking to Jada in Colin’s hotel room. She [remembers] that Colin’s mom and Chanel were on a roof, while looking at the album. She’s like, ‘That’s the only place he could be to get revenge.’ He’s replaying his mother’s death. It’s how he wants Paulina to die.”
Indeed, Colin, who’s brought Paulina up to the roof of the Salem Inn, is intent on making her jump to her death. Chanel tries to buy some time by sharing her side of what happened between her and Colin’s parents, but it only further enrages Colin. Then, Talia and Jada arrive on the scene, where Jada tries to de-escalate the situation. “This is all a whirlwind of emotions for Jada,” says Sevillian. “She’s trying to protect Talia and trying to talk Colin out of [harming Paulina]. Jada’s trying to listen to her sister and do her job at the same time.”
Colin then turns his attention to Chanel, which prompts Talia to take stock of her feelings for Ms. Dupree. “Talia grew love for Chanel,” points out Sevillian. “Seeing Colin [threaten] Chanel strikes something in her. Her old love is trying to kill her newfound love, and it’s all happening so fast. So she tries to talk him out of it. She tells Colin that [his mother’s death] wasn’t Chanel’s fault, that she’s a good person. She’s trying to make him see that he doesn’t want to do this, that the two of them can still run off and have a good life together, if he just stops.”
After, Talia wonders what Colin will do next. “Colin has nothing to lose and he’s going for it,” adds Sevillian. Which leaves Talia with a big decision to make about how to move forward.
“She didn’t think he was capable of any of this.”
