Souderton shuts down CB West

“We were coming off a pretty disappoint­ing loss on Monday night to HatboroHor­sham,” she said. “And we knew we had so much to prove in this league, that we haven’t shown what we’re capable of yet.”

Wednesday afternoon in a home contest with Central Bucks West, the Indians showed what level of play they have in them. Alyssa Ziegler scored less than four minutes into the game, while Tara Maloney added another tally in the second half as Souderton earned a 2-0 victory over the Bucks.

“Our passing was on, we were connecting. We came out really strong in the beginning,” Ziegler said. “And WRZDUG WKH HNG RI WKH fiUSW half, we were slowing down a little bit, but right as we went in the second half we picked it up and we did really good.”

Ziegler also had the assist on Maloney’s score as both of the goals for Souderton (2-2, 2-1 SOL Continenta­l) came off of penalty corners.

“We have really strong players up top on the corners,” Ziegler said. “And we all have really good hits. Abbey Gabriel and Bekah (Hershey), Tabatha (Almond) all have really good hits in.”
