IHSAA boys basketball semistate pairings, locations set

The IHSAA boys basketball semistate pairings and locations were set Sunday afternoon. All games will be played this Saturday, March 16.

Five South Bend area teams are still competing. In Class 4A, Mishawaka will stay close to home, getting to play in Elkhart's North Side Gymnasium. The Cavemen avoided No. 1 Fishers in the semifinals, as Mishawaka will face Fort Wayne Wayne in the second game at 11:45 a.m. The topranked Tigers play Crown Point in the 10 a.m. semifinal game. The final is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Two teams remain in Class 3A in South Bend Saint Joseph and Fairfield. They will make the longest drives of the area teams, with the games being played at Logansport High School. The Huskies and Falcons are on opposite sides of the draw, with Saint Joseph drawing Peru in the 10 a.m. semifinal game and Fairfield getting Delta in the noon contest. The championship will be played at 8 p.m.

There are also two teams still going in Class 1A: Elkhart Christian and Marquette Catholic. They are headed to Michigan City High School, and much like the 3A teams, are in separate semifinal games. Marquette will play Liberty Christian at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT, with ECA facing Fort Wayne Canterbury at noon ET/11 a.m. CT. The title game will start at 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT.
