Political donations are powerful, but so is the voting public

-

A flood of dark money is polluting our democracy and the stench is nauseating.

Who are the shadowy people spending vast amounts to influence the future of this country? What are they buying? And what are politicians selling? The soul of our nation is up for sale. To whom? I’ve read the NRA distributes more money than members contribute.

Is Russia funneling money to weaken what is American? Which begs the question, how come Gov. Rick Scott has so much money, far more than the donations from whom he represents? And the handshaking and photo ops — what interests does he really represent?

There is one thing more powerful than dark money and the shady entities that heave it — your vote. No matter what some say, our voting system is sound and powerful. Elections have been recently decided by astonishingly few votes. Vote. If you don’t, you can’t complain.
