A wild pitch: Marlins’ new ‘fan experience’

-

I would hate to have been the writer assigned to cover the Marlins’ plan for improving the “fan experience” next season. He must have exerted great self-control to not have laughed himself silly through the interview with new fan guru, Chip Bowers.

Special sections where fans can bang on drums and starting games earlier on Saturday so fans can go do other things that are more fun after the game is an absurd plan.

Here’s a clue: Hire some real baseball players, especially pitchers. There is nothing like winning games to increase the fan experience.

If Marlins officials expect fans from Broward and Palm Beach counties to pay real money to drive an hour each way to attend games, field a real team. I’ll gladly leave my drums at home.
